Corpus (ft. AI)

[Image, Technology & Motion][2025]

A visual study of my body as an inner landscape holding tension, softness, decay, and growth. Through AI-generated imagery refined in Photoshop and animated in After Effects, I created hybrid forms blending flesh, textile, and organic matter. The project explores intimacy with little voyeurism, and frames the female body as a complex ecosystem shaped by personal and cultural forces.

Process

A node-based AI workspace: a written prompt connected to a generated image of folded, flesh-like fabric
The same prompt producing another generated image

I imported an image of part of my body into Weavy, along with various prompts asking it to depict a body represented through nature and textile.

A generated image being worked on in Photoshop, with its layers panel open
Another generated image extended and edited in Photoshop

I moved the outputs I liked into Photoshop and cut out the parts I wanted to develop. I used Generative Expand on them to create more variations in the same visual language.

A loose collage of cut-out fragments of generated imagery
An initial collage of the different “body parts” I generated.
Zoomed-out view of the AI workspace: many generated images scattered across the canvas
Back in Weavy, I began searching for the form of my body’s ecosystem. I tried different models and prompts and drew on references from art history.
The AI workspace: prompts and images connected in a branching graph
I gradually narrowed the search toward a specific kind of world. I realized it should read as a landscape photograph, something like a battlefield or a piece of a big wild jungle.
An Ideogram V2 node combining a prompt, a negative prompt and a reference image into a wide landscape
I reached an output whose overall composition I was happy with.
The wide composition assembled in Photoshop from many masked layers
The wide composition in Photoshop at a later stage

In Photoshop, I worked on the fine details. It was important to me that every element in this ecosystem be deliberate and considered.

Finally, I brought the image into After Effects and used subtle movements to breathe life into it.
